Undergraduate Student in UTAR
âEvery day is a Good Day to be alive, whether the sunâs shining or notâ â Marty Robbins. Hope you have a good day ahead when youâre reading this blog. Greetings peeps! First of all, my name is Cheong Zhen Wei. I am an undergraduate student currently pursuing my third year Bachelor of (HONS) Public Relations in University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR Kampar). The reason why I chose to enroll myself in University Tunku Abdul Rahman is because UTAR is one of the eight Malaysian universities to get into the World University Rankings 2018 Top 1,000 list.
Besides, UTAR has beautiful natural environments such as mountains, trees and full of green. It also surrounded by lakes so that I can feel closer to the nature.
Back in the days when I was pursuing foundation course in UTAR, I actively participated in many kinds of events and exhibitions related to Public Relations. I have learned and gained lots of knowledge on how to be a good Public Relations practitioner. Hence, this has led me to become a social media professional.
As social media platforms continually evolve, it is important to the one who is running a business no matter it is a small or a big company. There are some tips on how to become a social media professional. First of all, behave in a respectful manner in all of your social media encounters, just like you have done conversing with others in your online degree program. Keep your posts, comments, and other interactions focused on productive conversations about your industry. But that doesnât mean you shouldnât have a personality or that you canât disagree with someone. In fact, you want to show your personal side and well-reasoned ideas, because that helps make you more interesting and memorable. Just remember: Youâre doing this for your career. Treat others as you would at your office or at a conference, and youâll put yourself in a great position to benefit professionally from social media. This is what I learned for the past 3 years.
Thank you for your time. Letâs help each other to improve yourself to be a future social media professional.
